It is hard to believe that we have reached the 100 day mark in the 2014-15 school year. Not only is it a milestone in an elementary school but it is also an opportunity to have some fun with the number 100. The Scholastic website has some fun activities that could be adapted to a snow day at home, a car ride, or the dinner table, Check them out at http://teacher.scholastic.com/lessonrepro/k_2theme/100days.htm. The 100th day of school is a magical day in an elementary school at a time when the snowbanks are high and the temperatures low.
The 100th day at TBPS comes right in the middle of the second trimester when there are few interruptions and teachers & students are highly engaged in the teaching and learning at hand. Many of our classes cross country ski or snowshoe which gives many students an opportunity to try something new, physically, and challenge themselves in the process. After all it is Vermont and it is winter!
